Students Recognized in Secondary Art Show

Several McNeil student’s art-work were recognized at the Secondary Art Show displayed at the PAC from May 11-16.

“I’m very proud of them,” art teacher Marisa Marsico said.

Art teachers from each Round Rock ISD high school chose the 12 strongest pieces from their students to be recognized in the show. Eight McNeil students received awards.

“I was happy that my artwork could be displayed alongside so many other wonderful pieces,” sophomore Kaylie Pasquino said.

Pasquino drew a self-portrait using pencil.

“I can be pretty hard on myself,” Pasquino said. “I think I could have done much better.”

Sophomore Maddy Picket won second place for her sculpture.

“I was really excited that I was able to show my work,” Picket said. “My favorite part of the art show was being able to walk through the gallery.”
