The Symphony Orchestra hosted its Midwest Clinic Sendoff Concert at the Cedar Ridge Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. The event was open to students, staff, and the community.
The concert showcased the Symphony Orchestra ahead of their performance at the Midwest Clinic: International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The Midwest Clinic is one of the world’s largest music education conferences, highlighting elite ensembles from around the world.
“This was a great opportunity for our orchestra,” junior Gavin Wu said. “We worked really hard to make the performance as good as it could be.”
The sendoff concert gave local audiences a chance to experience the orchestra’s performance in Central Texas before their appearance on the international stage.
“It’s amazing how far our group has come,” junior Syon Balakrishnan said. “I was really excited to share that music with the community in Chicago.”
