During the 2024-2025 school year, the administration has a one-weekend-per-month homework-free weekend policy that will coincide with student holiday weekends.
The MavMail Newsletter sent out to students and staff stated that these dates have been picked and decided in advance to allow families to plan activities and trips for their children to have a better student/family time balance.
Senior Dana Parker has been in high school for years when the no homework weekend rule was enacted and before that rule was enacted and believes it is beneficial for students.
“I believe that it’s a good idea,” Parker said. “It allows many kids to get a mental break and not be behind a desk all weekend and go do something.”
